Chichen Itzá & Valladolid Day Tour
In the northern region of the Yucatán Península, on a limestone plateau lie the relics of Chichen Itza, once one of the most powerful cities of the Maya.
Throughout its nearly 1,000 years of history, different peoples have left their mark on this city. The Maya and the Toltec vision of the world and the universe is revealed in their artistic works and stone monuments.
Ruins of the temples of this anciente civilization spread from Guatemala jungles to the Yucatán Península. Today, Chichen Itzá attracts lots of visitors who come to marvel at the spectacular remains.
Newly-named “Pueblo Magico” in August 2012, is a busting Mayan city with a special colonial flavor. This is where you will see buildings around the main Plaza painted in pastel colors and many of the townspeople with the typical dress of the Maya. You will surely get a sense of the laid-back pace of life.

Pick up around 8:00 am in your hotel lobby, please notice that it takes around 2 1/2 hs. to get to Chichen Itza (if you want to enjoy the site before the majority of visitors gets there, we can also arrange an earlier pick up. e.g. 6:30 am);
Guided journey and inside Chichen Itza archeological site: about 2 1/2 hrs.
Swimming in a private Cenote after the ruins to cool off;
Lunch at El Meson del Marquez in Valladolid (vegetarians welcome);
Free time for pictures and shopping in Valladolid;
Return around 6:00 pm to your hotel.

Comfortable shoes, bathing suit, towel, hat, sunglasses, biodegradable sunblock, camera, underwater camera (if possible), your own mask and snorkel (optional), money, etc.
